An unusual event took place in Tennessee when a fisherman thought that he caught a fish at Norris Lake but it turned out to be something astonishing.

A wildlife officer Rick Roberts received a call from a person in which he described this shocking event.

According to the Associated Press report, the officer from Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency described a 3- to 4-foot-long alligator that was caught by the fisherman by surprise

The angler said that he caught it on a swimbait.

The report noted that the alligators are not native to that part of Tennessee and are classified as a Class 1 wildlife species — those that are dangerous to human beings.

The alligators can only be possessed by special permission for the purpose of exhibition or commercial propagators.

The reptile was taken to Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue, an exotic animal rescue facility in Clinton, Tennessee, Matthew Cameron, regional communications coordinator for TWRA was quoted as saying in the report.

“While the origin of the alligator is unclear, it is evident that it was being illegally held in captivity and possibly released into Norris Lake,” Cameron said, adding that the handlers are currently finding a permanent home for the deadly creature.
