After big breakups, it’s not uncommon for newly single people to remove tattoos dedicated to their exes — although it sounds like Sofía Vergara has a better solution.
As you may know, Sofía and Joe Manganiello broke up in July 2023 after seven years of marriage. Joe was the one to file for divorce, and Sofía has since confirmed that the marriage ended because “he wanted to have kids, and [she] didn’t want to be an old mom.”
Now, appearing on the May 31 episode of The Talk, Sofía called out her son Manolo for getting too many tattoos — prompting him to point out that she has two of her own.
Defending herself, Sofía showed off the two small initials on each of her wrists and explained their meanings. On one side, she has an “R” honoring her late brother, Rafael, and on the other, a tiny “J” — a nod to her ex-husband.
But, instead of dwelling on the situation’s awkwardness, Sofía joked that the outdated tattoo now serves a new purpose in her love life.
“How lucky can I be that the guy that I’m going out [with] has the same initial,” she said, giving a cheeky shrug as she urged the audience to “recycle.”
Of course, Sofía was referring to her new boyfriend, Justin Saliman, whose convenient “J” initial gives a whole new meaning to her ink.
