Usyk predicts Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua after Makhmudov victory: “He’ll win”

    -

Oleksandr Usyk has revealed how he thinks a Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight would play out after ‘The Gypsy King’ returned over the weekend.

Fury was back in action for the first time in 16 months as he claimed a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Some fans believe it was a below-par performance from Fury, but nonetheless he dominated the majority of the action as the judges scored the contest 120-108 x 2 and 119-109 in his favour.

Fury’s last outing prior to the fight with Makhmudov was a clash against Usyk himself in December 2024, with the Urkainian coming out on top, seven months after also winning their first meeting to become undisputed champion.

‘The Gypsy King’ has previously spoken of his desire to secure a third fight with Usyk, but for now it seems his current focus is on a long-overdue meeting with countryman Joshua, as the pair were involved in a back-and-forth on Saturday after Fury’s win.

After the fight against Makhmudov, Usyk has now revealed during a press conference how he thinks a fight between the two Brits would play out, having also beaten Joshua twice earlier in his career.

“AJ win. He’s future undisputed champion.”

It may not come as a surprise to hear Usyk make that prediction, due to the fact that Joshua has been training alongside the Ukrainian for the past few months.

As for Usyk’s future plans, he returns to action in May when he defends his WBC heavyweight title against kickboxing star Rico Verhoeven.
