New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was the latest victim in a string of home robberies targeting high-profile athletes across the country, with WDSU’s Cassie Schirm and Metia Carroll reporting that Jordan’s home was burglarized last month, on Sept. 14. No one was home or injured during the break-in because Jordan and his family were at the Caesars Superdome for a game with the San Francisco 49ers at the time. For his part, Jordan was just grateful his loved ones were safe.
“Yah that Sunday sucked,” Jordan wrote on social media. “The most important things, my family, was and is safe.”
WDSU reports two men broke into Jordan’s home; suspects were arrested in Georgia two days later. Former LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow experienced a similar incident when his home outside Cincinnati was burglarized, with thieves taking jewelry, watches, and cash, among other personal belongings. It’s also happened to Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and, and a handful of NBA players.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office will address the incident in a press briefing at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
