For the third year in a row, CBS Sports senior writer Zachary Pereles has created a list of 50 under-the-radar players who could shape the NFL’s upcoming season. He publishes it 50 days before the start of the regular season, and this year, he made some changes to how he created it. A player being under the radar is subjective, so this year, Pereles implemented some rules:
- Not an All-Pro or Pro Bowler in 2024 or 2023 (we have one exception here, with good reason)
- Not drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft
- Not in my 100 most important players that published 100 days before the season began
He also ensures that one player from each team is included on the list, although there are several teams with multiple players represented. The Tennessee Titans had only one player on the list, although they might have had another if Pereles had included the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. Still, his selection from the Titans is a good one.
Peter Skoronski (LG), Titans: A 2023 first-round pick, Skoronski has been up and down through two NFL seasons. He graded out highly as a pass protector last season but struggled in the run game. Tennessee has spent significant resources on the offensive line over the past two offseasons, and Skoronski living up to his draft status would be an immense help.
Skoronski might have better luck in 2025 with veteran Dan Moore Jr. by his side. The last two seasons have seen a revolving door of right tackles for various reasons. With Moore on the roster, J.C. Latham moves back to his natural left tackle position, where he’ll have veteran guard Keven Zeitler to help him out. Last season’s offensive line woes were complicated by the loss of center Lloyd Cushenberry as well.
The 2025 offensive line improved by leaps and bounds with the additions of Moore and Zeitler, something the Titans desperately needed for their future franchise quarterback. Skoronski is going to be a big part of that, and we will likely see improvement from him with the roster improvements.
