    The legend of Anderson Silva keeps on growing.

    On Friday night in Miami, the 50-year-old Silva scored a spectacular knockout victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event. Silva, who has enjoyed a successful transition to the boxing ring in his post-MMA career, dropped Woodley with a flush right uppercut and a follow-up flurry in the second round. Though Woodley beat the count, the referee waved off the cruiserweight bout at the 1:33 mark, giving the Brazilian legend a TKO win.

    Once again, Silva showed that age is just a number as he added another storied chapter to his legendary career.

    How old is Anderson Silva?

    Silva is 50 years old.

    Born in 1975,Ā Silva began his professional career in Brazil.Ā Though he would later become synonymous with the UFC, he first established his legacy in promotions like Shooto and PRIDE FC before starting his legendary run in the UFC in 2006.

    Silva knocked down Woodley in the second round, then the fight was called shortly after.

    The MMA legend dropped Woodley with a flush right uppercut and a follow-up flurry in the second round, giving the Brazilian legend a decisive TKO win.

    With the win, Silva advanced to 4-2 as a boxer. But, since 2021, he is 3-1.

    His return to boxing after his long and legendary MMA career has been marked by several high-profile bouts against fellow combat sports veterans; he has beaten Woodley, Julio CƩsar ChƔvez Jr. and Tito Ortiz, with the loss coming against Jake Paul.

    What’s next for Anderson Silva?

    In his post-fight interview, Anderson Silva said he is not retiring from fighting, but wants to become a police officer in Beverly Hills.

    ā€œI go back to work right now and start my Police Academy to Beverley Hills PD,” Silva said.

    Silva has stated that becoming a police officer is a personal wish because it runs in his family. His uncle, who raised him for much of his childhood in Curitiba, was an officer with the local police force. Additionally, his brothers and nephews are also police officers. He views it as a “family thing.”

    In 2014, Silva told a Brazilian media outlet that he was actively studying at the Los Angeles School Police Department. He clarified that he was doing the training work in the U.S. in honor of his uncle back in Brazil.

    After the fight, Silva alsoĀ called out his longtime UFC rival Chris Weidman for a boxing match.Ā Weidman suffered while training for the second fight with Silva.

    The date of the anticipated fight is yet to be revealed.
