Nick Cannon has double standards for his twins with Mariah Carey.
During a recent appearance on The TMZ Podcast, the TV host spoke about 15-year-old Moroccan and Monroe and how he is handling dating as they get older.
“My son has been dating,” Cannon said. “I’ve allowed it, I encouraged it.”
When asked if Monroe is allowed to date, he replied, “No, absolutely not.”
“First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard,” he said. “And I know I get in trouble a lot because I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.”
He shared that he is more cautious with his daughter and pays closer attention to who she spends time with.
“I am more protective of my daughter because there [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from,” he said. “As we know, there’s certain type of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from.”
“If somebody puts their hands on my daughter, I’m going to jail,” he added. “If some man puts his hands on my daughter, it’s my worst nightmare because I am going to jail forever.”
However, he does not have the same concerns about his son’s dating life. When asked if he worries about girls dating his son for money, he said no.
“No! He got a whole lot of money. His mama’s Mariah Carey!”
The Wild ‘n Out creator said Monroe may have more freedom in the future, but there are rules in place right now.
“We made a deal,” Cannon said. “If she can explain to me what’s going to happen on these dates, then she can go.”
For now, that means no one-on-one dates.
“Your twin brother can go with you,” he said. “But you ain’t going one-on-one with no little bastard anywhere.”
