Hugh Jackman arrived hand-in-hand with Sutton Foster at the Met Gala on Monday, but there’s one moment we didn’t get to see.
Appearing on the US Today Show this morning, the Aussie actor revealed the “priceless” moment he witnessed after joining Hollywood’s elite at the exclusive dinner inside the event.

Jackman, 57, recalled the incredible moment Sabrina Carpenter was joined by music legend Stevie Nicks on stage.
“Stevie Nicks came out and sang and I was sitting,” he recalled on the morning program.
“I’m gonna do some more name dropping, but there was Beyoncé and Rihanna, and I look over, and Beyoncé was just hitting her daughter [Blue Ivy], who was there, and just had tears in her eyes.”
“Then I was like, that moment right there, that is priceless.”

The moving performance was Nicks’ first appearance at the Met Gala.
The 77-year-old joined Carpenter as they performed a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s iconic track Landslide, sweetly holding hands as they sung together.
It was also Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy’s first time attending the lavish event; she was one of the last to arrive with her parents by her side.
The occasion also marked a first for Jackman and Foster, who made their couple debut at the Met Gala, showing off both PDA and perfectly coordinated looks.
Jackman was dapper in a classic black tuxedo with an ornate brooch and white pocket square.
Meanwhile, Foster wore a one-shoulder metallic gold dress with bow detail on the shoulder and waist.
Jackman has attended the event in previous years, including with ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness.
While no phones were allowed inside the exclusive event, professional photos from inside the 2026 Met Gala gave a further glimpse of what the stars got up to behind closed doors.
One snap showed Tate McRae, Rosé, and Connor Storrie mid-dance move as they enjoyed the entertainment provided.
Carpenter took inspiration from the Met’s exhibits and posed with her arms up alongside one that referenced the same era as her own costume.
The occasion marked Jackman and Sutton’s first Met Gala together.
However, they made their first red carpet appearance at the Song Sung Blue premiere in October 2025, confirming rumours of their romance that had been swirling since 2024.
The pair have known one another for years through musical theatre and were co-stars in Broadway’s The Music Man.
Jackman and Foster got together after their respective splits from spouses Furness and Ted Griffin.
