The excitement reached fever pitch, as the legendary Jamie Foxx once again hit the road. Black Promoters Collective just announced the Back On My Funny comedy tour starting this Thursday in Stockton, California, and immediately moving on to Fresno and Bakersfield. The promotional image screams star power: Foxx, clad just in a dark jacket, seated against a black canvas with a hand extended as if propagating the crowd into his world. Bold yellow-faced dates promise, thus, tickets are fairly moving fast.

But here is the one: while California is lucky to have the first three dates, fans all over the country are practically screaming from the comments section to have their city added. Their reactions? Hype, desperate, with a smattering of judgment on the announcement coming so late.
One user from Fresno could hardly contain her excitement and shouted out to their hometown with pure pride. The Bakersfield declaration was tailed with fire emojis, counting down the days. It was when the request flood suddenly washed over: Vegas, Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Seattle, Louisville, Texas. You name it; somebody asks: “Jamie, can you come to my city?”
The current energy inside the comment section is crazy, in the best way possible. Some are simply confused, such as one asking, “Is this really happening?!” Spoiler: Yeah, it’s really happening. People then started strategizing, those that knew Foxx had been hinting about this for a couple weeks. Then came the brutally honest remarks from one fan, calling this California run “the Chitlin’ Circuit West Coast edition.”
Then came the ones who were not so keen about the timing: “Would’ve been nice to have a longer heads up,” went one comment, for which the promoters responded in spirit, “It’s Jamie Foxx—just go!” Good point. Then another fan took a joke-y jab: “Jamie, we need an album tour, not comedy.” Sorry, but the man has jokes to deliver first.
The best and most hilarious one? A Bay Area fan expressing legitimate disbelief that Stockton and Fresno were picked ahead of Oakland. Outrage was real. “Stockton??? Hell no!” They wrote this while tagging someone, presumably because this was a very personally directed accusation.
That, in essence, clearly implies how big an act it is for Jamie Foxx to be back doing stand-up. Whether it’s the short notice, the limited initial dates, or just the sheer power Jamie already conjures, people are amped. And with “more cities coming,” the comment section chaos will simply compound.

One thing’s for sure: If you are in Stockton, Fresno, or Bakersfield, you better get those tickets now. Everyone else? Keep screaming your city into the void. Jamie might just hear you.
