Members of British band Sleeper have been celebrating after two of their own got married, 30 years after they became engaged.
The ’90s Britpop band’s singer and guitarist Louise Wener and drummer Andy Maclure wed in the British seaside town of Brighton, where they now live.
The band’s official Instagram announced the news on Tuesday (Wednesday AEST) alongside images from their big day, complete with a tongue-in-cheek caption.
“30 years. You don’t want to rush into these things,” they wrote.
The images were a mix of shots from the wedding day as well as throwback photos from the 1990s, put together in a clip set to Raye’s hit Where’s My Husband.
The couple, who are parents to a 19-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son, first got together while working on the mid-90s album The It Girl.
Sleeper recorded the album across the end of 1995 and early 1996, before its May release, giving fans a timeline for when the pair got together.

The band’s Instagram Stories also revealed the couple had been engaged for 30 years by the time they wed, suggesting the proposal happened very soon after they started dating.
Instead of a traditional bridal dress, Wener channelled rock chic in leopard print, while Maclure opted for jeans and trainers paired with a blazer and shirt combo.
Sleeper, which also included Jon Stewart on lead guitar and Diid Osman on bass guitar, formed in London in 1992.
They eventually broke up in 1998, before a mini reunion almost 20 years later, in 2017.

Wener, once considered the Queen of Britpop, became a successful writer after the band members went their separate ways.
Maclure taught at Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) while also working with emerging pop artists.
While the couple’s kids were supportive of their comeback performance, Wener said they weren’t big fans.
“I think they’re just totally not into it,” she told Classic Pop Magazine at the time.
“Like: ‘Oh yeah, mum was in a band once, whatever’. They’re just not interested in it in that way, but that’s how it should be, you should always find your parents a bit embarrassing.”
