Then, the 14-year-old’s shocking death happened, whose decomposed remains were found in a vehicle registered in the rap star’s name.
Now, a report in Rolling Stone stated that Dv4d was quietly dropped by Interscope Records last year.
Meanwhile, another major record label, Universal Music Group, sought to remove the embattled musician’s tracks from streaming platforms.
Then, there is pressure on the streaming platforms themselves.
As charges against D4vd have been publicly announced, pressure mounts on Spotify and Apple Music to remove his music from their platforms.
At the front, Industry Blackout, a music advocacy group, is leading the campaign urging streaming platforms to fully remove the rapper’s music.
In a petition, they wrote, “The music industry has a responsibility that goes beyond commerce. When an artist has been charged with the sexual abuse and murder of a minor, a child who was drawn into his orbit through his music and public persona, continuing to stream, promote, and profit from his catalogue is a choice. It is not a neutral one.”
Celeste and D4vd were connected after she was reported missing in April 2024. Her body was found in 2025.
