Podcast Movement’s Evolutions Brings Big Names to SXSW
The free event will feature several headline speakers, including actor and SAG-AFTRA leader Sean Astin (The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings, Stranger Things), who will deliver the Sunday keynote. Actor Penn Badgley, best known for You and Gossip Girl, will appear as part of a live Companion podcast performance.
Actor and musician Maya Hawke, known for her role as Robin Buckley in the Netflix series Stranger Things, will appear as a guest during a live recording of the Broken Record podcast. The performance is expected to combine storytelling, music, and conversation.
Another featured moment will take place Saturday, March 14, when Companion Podcasts hosts an evening of live performances and storytelling, headlined by an acoustic set from multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and record producer Andy Grammer.
Team Podcast Movement says the goal of the event is to bring together podcast creators, media leaders and audiences for a weekend of live recordings and conversations. Other people taking part in the notable lineup include Internet personality MrBallen (John Allen), actress Kensington Tallman (the voice of Riley Anderson in Disney & Pixar’s Inside Out 2), actress Allison Dunbar (For All Mankind, Yellowstone), and actor Shaan Sharma (The Chosen).
