Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is working on priority basis to ensure access to healthcare facilities across the country.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on the matters related to Ministry of National Health Services, he directed to develop on modern lines the healthcare system falling under the precinct of federal government.
He said Islamabad’s healthcare facilities should be made a model for the whole country.
He gave directions to accelerate the pace of work on Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center. He directed to promptly initiate the pre-qualification process for the procurement of medical and surgical machinery and equipment for Jinnah Medical Complex, emphasizing the pre-qualification process should be completed under the supervision of an expert consultant.
He said a third-party audit must be conducted for the construction work and the procurement of machinery and equipment for Jinnah Medical Complex.
The Prime Minister instructed to initiate process of approval of charter for the University affiliated to Jinnah Medical Complex.
