YouTube star MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, had Monday announced that he would be leaving YouTube, baffling fans as they wondered whether he was actually about to quit or was it just another April Fool’s Day prank.
MrBeast, in a crisp post on X, formerly Twitter, said: “I’m quitting YouTube.”
A concerned user asked the content creator why he would do that. In response, Donaldson said: “Posting to X full time now.”
X owner Elon Musk responded to the 25-year-old: “You should actually.”
This wasn’t the first time that the two famous personalities had interacted on a social media platform.
In December 2022, MrBeast had proposed that he should be made the CEO of X after Musk took over.
“Can I be the new Twitter CEO?” the 25-year-old had asked.
In response, Musk said: “It is not out of question.”
