Texas A&M will enter SEC play at 15-1 after run-ruling SFA on Tuesday night, while the Aggies’ only loss of the year came against No. 1 UCLA, which looks like the most complete team in the country. On Thursday, second-year head coach Michael Earley revealed that star transfer hitters Chris Hacopian and Wesley Jordan are slated to return to the lineup after extended absences.
While the Aggie offense has been highly impressive without Hacopian and Jordan in the lineup, Texas A&M’s pitching staff has been the suprise of the season within the SEC, as starters Shane Sdao, Weston Moss, and Aiden Sims are a combined 8-1, while Moss’s 5.21 ERA is inflated due his start against UCLA, which was by far the group’s worst performance of the year.

Sdao, who returned to the mound for the first time in nearly a year due to nagging injury issues, looked the part as the Friday starter, striking out 25 with seven runs allowed in four starts. Moss will be the starter to watch the rest of the way, while Aiden Sims has been nothing short of spectacular, leading the Aggies with a 1.59 ERA and an undefeated record entering conference play.
Set to face No. 12 Oklahoma in Norman this weekend, all three starters will need to last at least five or six innings, while the offense needs to travel to give the Aggies a shot at winning two of three. For the Sooners, their starting pitching staff is equally impressive and will also be counted on to give their batting lineup some breathing room.
Ahead of Friday’s Game 1 matchup, here is the expected starting pitching rotation for Texas A&M and Oklahoma:
