If ever there was a draft prospect born to play for the Denver Broncos, it might be Terrance Ferguson.
Ferguson (6-5, 247 pounds) was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado and he backed the hometown Broncos, of course, but he also grew up rooting for Sean Payton’s New Orleans Saints. Then he went to college and played with quarterback Bo Nix at Oregon.
Payton now coaches the Broncos with Nix as his quarterback and the team plans to host Ferguson on a pre-draft visit, according to the Denver Gazette‘s Chris Tomasson. Because he is a local prospect, Ferguson won’t count against the team’s limit of 30 non-local visits.
Nix and Ferguson connected 42 times for 414 six touchdowns in 2023 with the Ducks before Nix entered the NFL draft. Last fall, Ferguson hauled in 43 receptions for 591 yards and three scores.
Ferguson ran a 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds at the NFL combine, the fastest time among tight ends. He is now projected as a fourth-round prospect and Denver holds pick No. 122 in the fourth round this year. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Wisconsin from April 24-26.
