Steelers get a jump on scouting for 2026 NFL draft with Jordyn Tyson and Sam Leavitt

    -

The 2025 college football season is still three weeks away but the Pittsburgh Steelers are already on the scouting trail looking at prospects for the 2026 NFL draft. On Monday, 10 NFL teams were in attendance for Arizona State’s practice to check out two of the top prospects for the 2026 NFL draft. Both of these guys should be on the draft radar of the Steelers.

First up we have wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. Tyson is going to make a strong case to be the first wide receiver off the board in the draft. He’s a masterful route runner, is the best receiver in the country at getting separation and had developed into one of the best blocking receivers in the country thanks to the influence of former Steeler Hines Ward.

ASU also has quarterback Sam Levitt who should be on the Steelers radar. Leavitt is a redshirt sophomore and a transfer from Michigan State after the 2023 season. Last season, Leavitt threw for a modest 2,885 yards but an impressive 24 touchdowns to just six interceptions. Leavitt with a year in the ASU system should have a breakout season throwing to Tyson.

A Bonus ASU player the Steelers could be keeping an eye on is running back Kanye Udoh. He’s a transfer from Army and should have a good shot to showcase his skills as part of a running back rotation.
