Jalen Ramsey’s contract details have just been fully revealed — and here’s what Steelers fans should know about Pittsburgh’s newest cornerback.
According to Spotrac, a well-respected source of information on sports finance, Ramsey’s contract with the Steelers is a four-year, $84.7 million deal — including $19.5 million in guarantees, all of which he’ll receive this upcoming season. Ramsey’s 2025 cap hit is set at $4.904 million, and his 2026 salary includes only $3.5 million in injury-only guarantees — an absolute steal for Pittsburgh.
It was previously speculated that the Dolphins had to trade Ramsey in a player-for-player deal due to his expensive contract — which might explain why the Steelers sent away one of the NFL’s highest-paid safeties in Minkah Fitzpatrick.
While both defensive backs involved in the trade are considered past their prime, Ramsey’s versatility to play outside, in the slot, and at safety offers Pittsburgh an arguable upgrade over Fitzpatrick — whose lack of splash plays played a part in the Steelers’ eagerness to deal him.
