The Philadelphia 76ers hold the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA draft following a miserable season. The Sixers were expected to contend for a title, but injuries decimated the roster and it led to a 24-58 record.
With that No. 3 pick, the Sixers can go in a number of directions as they look to add a younger piece to the roster. There are plenty of options for them to choose from as there are some talented players at the top of the draft–most notably the Rutgers tandem of Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper.
As Philadelphia moves forward, it will have to decide what the best route is. The Sixers could go with Bailey at No. 3, they can trade down, or they could even trade up. Harper is projected to go No. 2 to the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia reportedly has engaged with the Spurs about moving up to No. 2.
President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey has never shied away from a trade that he feels will help his team. If he has eyes on Harper, then moving up to No. 2 and making a deal with the Spurs is the way to go. He averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 48.4% from the floor and 33.3% from deep for the Scarlet Knights in 2024-25.
