Sidney Crosby is no doubt the heart of Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but the captain seemed to sustain an injury during a key moment of Wednesday morning’s quarterfinal match.
In one of the most surprising moments of these Olympics, Canada fell behind for the first time in a game, with Czechia taking a 2-1 lead over the favorites in Wednesday’s quarterfinal. Even more unfortunate for the Canadians, Crosby left the game with an injury after taking a hit near the boards in the middle of the second period.

Canada’s captain sat on the bench for a few moments in pain before heading off to the locker room.
Canada tied up the game 2-2 in the second period with Crosby still in the locker room, but if the Pittsburgh Penguins captain is out for any length of time in this game or the tournament, it will surely be a blow.
