Seahawks may have tough time addressing major need

    -

The Seattle Seahawks are entering the 2025 NFL draft with multiple needs across their offensive line, particularly inside at center and both guard spots. As currently constructed, the Seahawks are without a starter at left guard after 2024 starter Laken Tomlinson left in free agency. The current plan at center is Olu Oluwatimi or Jalen Sundell, and a slew of young blockers, Anthony Bradford, Christian Haynes, and Sataoa Laumea, are present at right guard.

It would behoove Seahawks general manager John Schneider if the 2025 NFL draft featured a deep class of interior offensive linemen. Unfortunately, it does not, according to a new story by Pro Football Focus. PFF recently assigned letter grades to each position group. The interior offensive line group earned a “C.”

“In a vacuum, without any tackle converts, this year’s interior class is lacking,” Mason Cameron wrote. “However, should many of the names listed above shift inside, this group takes on an entirely different shape. FCS standout Grey Zabel is without a doubt converting inside following the extensive looks he received at guard and center during the pre-draft process, and he would profile as the lone first-round-caliber player, as PFF’s 29th-ranked prospect.”

As Cameron mentions, the group will be boosted by tackle-to-guard converts. The overall pool of talent is deeper than the initial eye suggests, with “tackles” like Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks Jr., Zabel, and Wyatt Milum likely to play guard at the next level. The Seahawks must navigate through the weeds to find at least one, preferably two, interior lineman capable of being an immediate contributor.
