Seahawks’ Leonard Williams makes DT rankings list

    -

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams has been earning accolades all offseason long after a terrific 2024 campaign. Fresh off just the second Pro Bowl appearance of his career, Williams made the NFL’s annual Top 100 list, clocking in at No. 99 overall.

ESPN recently ranked their own annual position rankings list. Williams checks in at No. 6 overall among defensive tackles.

First-year Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald helped catapult Williams, who took full advantage of his matchups to have a banner season,” ESPN wrote “His play finally matched his abilities last season,” a veteran NFL coach said. “He was dominant. Others have been better than him in previous years, but he always had a high ceiling.”

Williams recorded a career-high 28 quarterback hits and 16 tackles for loss in Macdonald’s defense. It was an impressive season for a 10-year pro. Williams added 64 tackles, three passes defended and a 92-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Has rare length, range and power,” an NFL coordinator said. “Was nice to see him put it all together.”

The Seahawks are fortunate to have Williams. Coach Macdonald has routinely maximized his interior defensive linemen, having done something similar for Nnamdi Madubuike in Baltimore. Williams should be among the Seahawks’ top performers in 2025 again.
