2026 has been a great chance for the New Orleans Saints to begin to build their offense from the ground up, somewhat, with Tyler Shough at the forefront, and a few core pieces in place, they have turned to finding an improvement to the run game. With the additions of David Edwards and Travis Etienne, it is clear where they believe they needed to fix some gaps, and now, it could be worth looking into another guard if they wish to move on from Cesar Ruiz.
The 2026 NFL Draft could be their opportunity to do so, and they have looked into a few options, including Auburn guard Jeremiah Wright, with whom they had breakfast recently.

Wright is a fascinating offensive line prospect in this class, as he has the exact size you would like for a guard prospect, and has shown flashes of high-level play, but also has some downsides. At 6-foot-5, 331 pounds, he has a stout frame, and his 33 1/8-inch arms, along with 10-inch hands, both indicate he could make things work at the NFL level physically.
The biggest question in his game is his production in pass protection, as he gave up 5 sacks and 22 pressures this past season, while being penalized 3 times. This came in 686 snaps at right guard and 81 at left guard, splitting time a bit between the two, but focusing on the right side, the spot the Saints most need to fill.
Overall, Wright is a potentially fun prospect to keep an eye out for when it comes to New Orleans, as they look to continue to fill needs throughout the spring.
