    Richland County high school football teams go a combined 5-4 in Week 9

    MANSFIELD — And there you have it. The 2025 high school football regular season is 90% over.

    Richland County teams went a combined 5-4 in Week 9. Let’s take a look at what happened in Richland County and in surrounding conferences.

    Richland County Football Schedule

    Ontario 35, Highland 0

    The Ontario Warriors found their offensive groove during a 35-0 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Highland in Week 9.

    Kooper Kilgore got the scoring started eith a two-yard touchdown run before Alex McWhorter caught a 68-yard pass from Gavin Miller. Miller also linked up with Guy Trader for a 20-yard touchdown pass and ran in a one-yard score to count for three TDs on the evening. Trader had a 65-yard put return for a score to add a special teams TD to the dominant win. McWorther also forced a fumble on defense for a solid all-around game.

    The Warriors improve to 5-4 and 3-3 in the MOAC. They host River Valley in Week 10.

    Clear Fork 44, River Valley 7

    The Clear Fork Colts cruised to a 44-7 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victory over River Valley in Week 9.

    Ben Campbell begain a huge day with a two-yard touchdown run with 8:48 left in the first quarter and added a 48-yard scoring run with 1:46 showing to give the Colts an early 14-0 lead after the opening frame. Campbell then threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Devyn Oswalt with 11:15 showing in the second quarter to build a 21-0 lead. After River Valley scored, Oswalt blasted through the line for an 81-yard score with eight minutes left in the half before Nash Evans closed out the half with a 25-yard field goal giving the Colts a 31-7 advantage at the intermission.

    Campbell added touchdown runs of 15 and three yards in the second half to cap off a dominant evening for the Colts.

    Campbell ran for 203 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries while throwing for a score on his only pass attempt. Oswalt ran for 111 yards on five carries with a score and caught a touchdown pass. The Clear Fork offense ran for 369 yards on 51 attempts while the defense held River Valley to negative-42 yards rushing on 14 carries.

    The Colts improve to 6-3 and 4-2 in the MOAC. They travel to Galion in Week 10 for a huge game with playoff seeding implications.

    Monroeville 28, Crestview 26

    The Crestview Cougars suffered a heartbreaking loss to Moneorville, 28-26, to dash their Firelands Conference championship hopes.

    Ayden Reymer got th Cougars on the board first with a 15 yards touchdown run to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. They then added a trick play score when Reymer hit Max Durbin for a 52-yard score to make it 14-0. Monroeville then scored 21 straight point to take a 21-14 lead with 3:59 left in the third quarter. The Cougars responded with an 87 yard touchdown pass from Liam Kuhn to Carson Keener with 10:51 left to play to make it 21-20 after a missed point-after attempt. Trailing 28-20 after a Monroeville score, Kuhn ran in a seven-yard TD with 5:43 left to play but the game-tying two-point conversion failed.

    Kuhn completed 6-of-8 passes for 157 yards and a score while also running for seven yards. Keener caight four passes for 102 yards and a TD while Durbin added three catches for 67 yards and a score and Karter Goon caught three passes for 63 yards. Reymer ran for 22 yards on 11 carries as the leading rusher for the Cougars.

    Crestview falls to 5-4 and 4-2 in the Firelands Conference. They travel to Mapleton in Week 10.

    GlenOak 44, Mansfield Senior 12

    The Mansfield Senior Tygers took a 44-12 nonconference loss to Canton GlenOak in Week 9.

    After falling behing 9-0, the Tygers got on the board when Ajahi Evans rumbled in from four yards out to make it 9-6. GlenOak then scored 28 unanswered points to build a 37-6 lead before the Tygers could stop the bleeding with a 32-yard touchdown pass from Sean Tanner to DJ Corbin.

    Evans ran for 32 yards on 11 carries while Ryan Au had 43 yards on six carries. Tanner connected on 7-of-17 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Corbin caught two passes for 53 yards and a score.

    The Tygers are now 1-8 and host Madison in Week 10.

    Western Reserve 40, Plymouth 0

    The Plymouth Big Red took a 40-0 loss to Western Reserve in Week 9 of the high school football season.

    The Big Red had just 55 yards of total offense with Cullen Mason having 51 rushing yards on the evening.

    Plymouth falls to 1-8 and 1-5 in the Firelands Conference. The Big Red hosts South Central in Week 10.
