Quinton Newsome fighting for spot this summer

    -

Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at second-year cornerback Quinton Newsome, No. 36.

Before the Broncos: Newsome (6-1, 185 pounds) played in the Big Ten as a member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2019-23. In 53 college games, Newsome recorded 149 total tackles (94 solo, 55 assisted, seven tackles for loss), 3.0 sacks, one interception, 17 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Broncos tenure: Newsome was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos in May 2024. In October, Newsome was released and then re-signed to Denver’s practice squad. In March 2025, the Broncos signed Newsome to a futures contract, keeping him on the 90-man roster.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Long shot. Newsome finds himself in a crowded defensive back room that was recently made more crowded with the addition of former UFL player Mario Goodrich. Newsome might be the outside fish in a very talented pond, but he’ll get a chance to compete for a spot this summer.
