Former New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison criticized the Baltimore Ravens’ usage of running back Derrick Henry after Sunday night’s game.
Outside of a fumble, Henry had a strong game against the Patriots, rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry in a game where the undermanned Patriots’ defense seemingly had no answers when it came to slowing him down.

That’s why it was so surprising to see the Ravens move away from Henry running the ball down the stretch. Instead of the All-Pro running back, the Ravens leaned on Keaton Mitchell late in the game.
Harrison clearly didn’t agree with that decision by the Ravens with the game on the line.
“How do you not have Derrick Henry on the football field in the second half?” Harrison asked after the game. “That’s the one guy the Patriots did not want to tackle. … I absolutely, at times, hate the Ravens’ offensive strategy. … If I’m coach [John] Harbaugh and I’ve got Derrick Henry, what are you saving him for? You saving him for next year?”
The Ravens’ decision not to go with Henry down the stretch was a perplexing one for sure. It’s a decision that might have cost them a playoff spot.
