Pakistan win toss, elect to bowl first against New Zealand in 4th T20I

    -

Pakistan have won the toss and decided to bowl first in the fourth T20I against New Zealand at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Thursday.

New Zealand currently leads the five-match series 2-1.

New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has been officially ruled out of the fourth and fifth T20Is against Pakistan due to a shoulder injury, as confirmed by the New Zealand Cricket Board on Saturday.

Although Henry had initially been named in the squad, he will now focus on his rehabilitation to recover from the injury. The right-arm pacer sustained the issue while taking a catch during New Zealand’s Champions Trophy semi-final victory over South Africa earlier this month, which had already ruled him out of the final against India.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by nine wickets in the third T20I at Eden Park, chasing down 205 in just 16 overs.

Hasan Nawaz played a standout role, scoring 105* off 45 balls, while skipper Agha Salman contributed an unbeaten 51* off 31 balls.

Mohammad Haris added 41 off 20 before falling to Jacob Duffy. Pakistan finished at 207/1, with a run rate of 12.93.

    Playing XI:

Pakistan: Mohammad Haris (w), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Agha (c), Irfan Khan, Shadab Khan, Abdul Samad, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed.

New Zealand: Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Mitch Hay (wk), Michael Bracewell (c), Zak Foulkes, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy, Will O’ Rourke.
