Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat in the fourth T20I against New Zealand, getting bowled out for just 105 runs in 16.2 overs—one of their lowest-ever totals in T20I history.
Batting first at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand posted a formidable total of 220-6 in 20 overs. Tim Seifert led with 44 runs, while captain Michael Bracewell top-scored with 46. Pakistan’s bowling attack saw Haris Rauf claim three wickets, Abrar Ahmed take two, and Abbas Afridi pick up one.
Chasing the target, Pakistan’s batting collapsed early, with opener Mohammad Haris scoring just 2 runs. Khushdil Shah (6), Hassan Nawaz, captain Agha Salman, Shadab Khan, and Abbas Afridi each managed only a single run before being dismissed. Abdul Samad was the lone bright spot, scoring a fighting 44 runs.
This is the second time Pakistan has been dismissed for 105 runs in a T20I, the previous instance occurring in 2018 against New Zealand at Sky Stadium. Their lowest-ever total remains 74 against Australia.
The final match of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, 26 March, before the teams shift to the ODI format.
