With the interscholastic sports season complete for the 2024-25 academic year, the time has come to look back across the spring’s highlights. Welcome to the Times Telegram and Observer-Dispatch reader poll to select a top Mohawk Valley area high school softball player for the 2025 season.
Listed below are 13 candidates from a season that saw four area teams win Section III titles — two repeated — and one win its first state championship. These were among the top statistical performers on those teams and others.
A weekly list of athlete of the week nominees were compiled through the fall and winter seasons by our sports department with information provided to the Times Telegram and the Observer-Dispatch by coaches and athletic directors through emails and other contacts, and this poll follows that same pattern.
Online voting is open to readers and continues until Friday at noon with winner to be announced this weekend on the TimesTelegram.com/sports and UticaOD.com/sports websites.
A list of baseball players for their poll is coming soon.
