MSU is in pursuit of the transfer guard alongside Texas Tech and USC
Michigan State basketball still has one more hole to fill on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season with a player needed to step into a backup point guard role, while also being able to play alongside Jeremy Fears in spot situations at the two-guard position. The Spartans have identified Miami (FL) guard transfer Divine Ugochukwu as a prospect that could fill this void.
Ugochukwu and the Spartans have been in contact recently, and even have conducted multiple Zoom meetings with one another. It is clear that there is strong link between MSU’s coaching staff and the Miami (FL) point guard. The Spartans are battling Texas Tech and USC for the transfer guard.
Now, the Spartans are going to get their first crack at hosting the guard on an official visit. MSU will host Ugochukwu on Monday and Tuesday, showing the prospect around East Lansing and what the program has to offer.
As a true freshman in 2024-25, Ugochukwu played in 28 games, making 16 starts, and averaged 5.3 points, 2.3 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game.
