For being one of the more celebrated offensive minds in the NFL, the overall record and playoff success have not been there.

Many believe that the expanded NFL playoff format has saved LaFleur from missing the playoffs in the previous three seasons. However, even when the Packers make the postseason under LaFleur, they’ve only won one game max with a 3-5 record.

With the slight disappointment that has come with LaFleur, what does his contract look like heading into the 2025-26 playoff?

The Sporting News has the full breakdown of LaFleur’s contract situation.

    Matt LaFleur contract

Back in 2019, Matt LaFleur signed his original contract to become the Green Bay Packers head coach. This deal was worth $5 million yearly, which was eventually increased when he signed an extension in 2022.

In the offseason ahead of the 2025 season, the new team president, Ed Policy, chose not to extend LaFleur’s contract. This, of course, sparks a lot of discussion about LaFleur’s future with the Packers.

These conversations only got louder throughout the rough stretches this season. Now, as the season concludes, there has been little reporting on whether LaFleur will be extended.

However, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the issue at hand is not whether Green Bay wants to extend him or not, but rather agreeing on a fair price for both sides.

    Matt LaFleur coaching record

Since becoming the Packers’ head coach, Matt LaFleur has compiled a 76-40 record over the past seven seasons. The first three seasons, from 2019 to 2021, do much of the heavy lifting, as Green Bay won 13 games in each of those years.

Over the past four seasons, three of them have seen the Packers finish with fewer than 10 regular-season wins. As mentioned above, LaFleur’s playoff stats are not good.

How long has Matt LaFleur coached the Packers?

Matt LaFleur is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. After signing his contract in 2019, he was extended in 2022.
