Luka Doncic has moved on from the shock of being traded to the Lakers

    -

After Luka Doncic was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers six months ago, he was shocked. After spending the first six seasons and change in Dallas, he thought he would be a member of the Mavericks for his entire career, and it was a lesson to everyone that no NBA player is truly untouchable.

As a result, some wondered if Doncic would commit to the Lakers long-term and sign a contract extension with them this summer. That turned out to be a non-issue, as he agreed to a three-year extension on Saturday, the first day he was eligible to sign such a deal.

Doncic is now fully emotionally invested in the Purple and Gold. Lara Beth Seager, Doncic’s manager, said that the superstar has put aside any residual shock from February’s tectonic trade.

    Via The Athletic:

“He’s moved on,” she told The Athletic.

He could now be poised to start playing the best basketball of his life, even after averaging 28.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists over the first seven seasons of his NBA career. He has gotten into much better shape and dropped the extra weight he had been carrying around, and it may be something he consistently commits to, as he now has his own health and fitness team.

Doncic is now focused on winning his first NBA championship, and he said he believes the Lakers have the men to compete for one right away.
