    -

England pacer Jofra Archer etched his name into the record books during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, becoming the fastest bowler from his country to reach 50 ODI wickets.

Archer achieved the feat in his 30th match, surpassing James Anderson’s previous record of 31 games.

The 29-year-old reached the milestone in England’s Group B clash against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

He struck in the fifth over, dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz before removing Sediqullah Atal just four balls later. Archer continued his fiery spell, claiming a third wicket by sending Rahmat Shah back to the pavilion, making him the first England bowler to take three wickets inside the powerplay in Champions Trophy history.
