See where Spartans star Jase Richardson landed in ESPN’s post-combine NBA Mock Draft
The latest NBA Mock Draft from ESPN has Michigan State star Jase Richardson right outside of the lottery following the combine.
Jonathan Givony of ESPN released an updated NBA Mock Draft on Monday, which has Richardson higher than some others in the mock draft business. Givony slated Richardson as the No. 16 overall pick going to the Orlando Magic.
Here’s what ESPN had to say about Richardson:
“Should the Magic keep this pick, drafting a player such as Richardson, who possesses an excellent feel for the game and strong defensive intensity (and hit 41% of his 3-pointers this season), makes sense. His ability to play off the ball alongside two prolific shot-creators in Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero would also be a plus, as Richardson showed with his willingness to play a role at Michigan State, where he demonstrated character and winning qualities.”
Richardson starred for the Spartans as a true freshman, scoring 12.1 points per game in his lone season at Michigan State. He declared for the NBA Draft following his stellar first season and has been considered a fringe lottery pick to late first round pick lately. So this mock from Givony is promising for Richardson as some have recently bumped him down to the bottom portion of the first round.
