The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that five players will be inactive for the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On game days, teams are permitted to have only 48 players active and available.
The Jaguars did not make any practice squad elevations–although they signed a tight end to the 53-man roster and released a running back–meaning that five players have to be inactive.
Jaguars vs. Chiefs Week 5 inactives
- LB Yasir Abdullah
- OL Wyatt Milum
- DE Danny Striggow
- DT Khalen Saunders
- DE Travon Walker
The big news here is that the Jaguars will be without defensive end Travon Walker, who was originally questionable for this game after undergoing a wrist procedure earlier in the week.
Emmanuel Ogbah and Dawuane Smoot will take on larger roles without Walker available. Rookie BJ Green is active as well.
Abdullah was ruled out on Friday with a hamstring injury. Milum was questionable as he still works through a knee injury he suffered during training camp.
Striggow has been inactive in each game this season. The Jaguars opted to go with Green to bolster their defensive end depth.
Saunders, meanwhile, has been inactive in each of the last four games as the Jaguars go with Austin Johnson as their back-end rotational defender at defensive tackle.
