The Carolina Panthers will have to wait at least one more week to get one of their top pass catchers back on the playing field.
As announced on Saturday, wideout Jalen Coker has been ruled out of today’s contest against the Dallas Cowboys. The second-year receiver, who missed the first five games of the campaign due to a quad strain, was listed as questionable for the Week 6 matchup on Friday.
Head coach Dave Canales was asked about Coker’s progress after the final practice of the week.
“He looked great,” Canales replied. “I think we’re still gonna have to make a game-time decision on that one. But he just took a little more each day, and he looked fast and he looked explosive. And we have to make the best decision and combination of guys to help us this week.”
Coker, after beginning the regular season on injured reserve, was designated to return to practice this past Wednesday.
