A social media request posted by Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has apparently aroused the wrong kind of attention for the WNBA star.
After someone threw a neon green dildo on the court during a July 29 game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries, it inspired another person to hurl a different green dildo under the hoop at the Aug. 1 game between the Golden State Valkyries and the Chicago Sky.
An official kicked the contraband aside before it was removed, according to Where Is The Buzz.
Cunningham took to X, formerly Twitter, to make a fairly reasonable ask to WNBA fans:
Toward the end of the second quarter, someone tossed a green dildo toward Cunningham, who jumped back in surprise.
Opposing player Kelsey Plum kicked the product back into the stands.
Although Sparks coach Lynne Roberts called the dildo toss “ridiculous,” “dumb” and “stupid,” Cunningham was seen laughing about the incident.
Cunningham later made an Instagram story where she remarked, “no way that thing actually hit me. I knew I shouldn’t have tweeted that.”

She also made a self-deprecating post about her previous request:
After a man suspected of tossing the dildo at the Golden State-Atlanta game was arrested on Saturday, the WNBA warned that “any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities,” according to ESPN.
