Twelve athletes from the Wyoming Valley Conference earned first-team all-state honors from the Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches’ Association on Monday.
Lackawanna Trail senior Greta Krimmel, this year’s Times-Tribune Field Hockey Player of the Year, earned a spot on the Class 1A team.

Players were named to the first and second teams and an honorable mention list in each of the three classifications in the PIAA.
Joining Krimmel on the Class 1A first team were Lake-Lehman’s Gianna DeCesaris and Olivia Oliver, Wyoming Area’s Ella Campenni and Lucia Campenni, and Wyoming Seminary’s Sophia Medicoc and Emerson Swartz.
Crestwood had four players, Madi Geiger, Alex Geiger, Allie Myers, and Kasey Obes, chosen for the Class 2A first team.
Wyoming Valley West’s Kaylah Sewell and Charlotte Yelen and Hazleton Area’s Bella Boyle were named to the Class 3A first team.
Krimmel, who will continue her field hockey career at Hofstra University, led Lackawanna Trail to the District 2 Class 1A semifinals. She scored 11 goals and had five assists this season. She was named the MAX Field Hockey Invitational Top Performer in September.

A three-year starter and three-time All-Region selection, Krimmel finished with 160 points in her career.
Lackawanna Trail’s Megan Fahey was selected to the second team, and Lyla Ryon was an honorable choice on the Class 1A all-state team.
Wyoming Area’s Brianna Dragwa was a second-team choice, and Claudia Rehill was an honorable mention in Class 1A.
Nanticoke Area’s Emersyn Brown and Madison Falkowski were honorable mentions in Class 1A.
In addition to four first-team selections, Crestwood had Ally George and Lexi Zabroski on the second team and MacKenzie Kovalski on the honorable mention list in Class 2A.

Dallas’ Chloe Fiske and Wallenpaupack’s Emma Ey were both named to the second team in Class 2A.
Wyoming Valley West’s Ava Muller was a second-team choice, and Kiana Mahle and Paige Yurko were honorable mentions in Class 3A.
Honesdale had Jayden Beisner and Claire Goldstein on the second team and Alyssa Czekai, Lily Murray, and Chloe Spry on the honorable mention list in Class 3A.
Wilkes-Barre Area’s Gianna Gustinucci and Grace Simko were on the Class 3A honorable mention list.
