Giants sign Tomon Fox to 53-man roster in series of transactions

The New York Giants continued tweaking their roster late on Saturday, signing linebacker Tomon Fox from their practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Fox originally signed with the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent out of North Carolina following the 2022 NFL draft. He’s bounced around from the practice squad to the active roster over his four-year career, appearing in 28 games (one start).

Fox, 27, has recorded 39 tackles (23 solo, five for a loss), four QB hits, and 2.0 sacks.

In order to make room for Fox on the 53-man roster, the Giants waived wide receiver Xavier Gipson, who had been claimed off waivers from the New York Jets on September 11. He did not appear in a game.

Additionally, the Giants have activated defensive lineman Elijah Garcia and linebacker Neville Hewitt from their practice squad.

For Garcia, this is his third and final activation of the year. He was previously elevated in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders and Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. If the Giants want to use him on gameday again this season, they must sign him to the 53-man roster.

For Hewitt, who was signed on September 16, this is his first activation of the season. He has two remaining.
