Although the postseason is still rolling with the start of the conference finals, different rumors and offseason chatter are already beginning to stir for the other 26 eliminated teams.
After being bounced from the second round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Golden State Warriors have been at the center of multiple rumors as they attempt to rebuild around Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green. Different names have already been floated as potential options for the Warriors in the summer. Add a former champ to the list.
In a recent appearance on The Zach Lowe Show, The Ringer’s Logan Murdock mentioned Boston Celtics guard Derrick White as a potential target for Golden State.
In March, Shams Charania of ESPN reported the Celtics will be exploding trade options during the offseason. The Celtics are currently in the second apron with multiple large contracts on their roster.
If he hits the trade block, White will likely have a high price tag. The former first-round pick can play fierce defense, handle the basketball and shoot from beyond the arc.
In his fourth season with the Celtics, White averaged a career-high 16.4 points on 44.2% shooting from the field and 38.4% from deep to go along with 4.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
