The Kansas City Chiefs’ receiving corps has had a rough start to the 2025 season, and some experts expect the reigning AFC champions to acquire a pass-catcher via trade in the coming weeks.
Among the receivers who could be available is New Orleans Saints wideout Chris Olave, who has developed into a star in The Big Easy over the last few years.
In an article about NFL trade rumors, John Sigler of Saints Wire speculated that Kansas City may be keen to trade for Olave amidst the Chiefs’ slow offensive start.
Sigler indicated that it may take a first-round pick to pry Olave away from the Saints:
The Chiefs are typically conservative with their draft capital, but have proven to be willing suitors in deals for proven veterans like Josh Uche and DeAndre Hopkins, both of whom were acquired by Kansas City via trade last season.
Given Xavier Worthy’s expected return to the field in Week 4 and Rashee Rice’s eventual reinstatement from the commissioner’s exempt list, it seems unlikely that the Chiefs will look to spend a first-round pick to bring in Olave.
