Who it’s for: Golfers seeking a compact alternative to a driver that’s more forgiving than a fairway wood and delivers precise control off the tee.

What you should know: The Elyte Mini Night Edition adds a dark, modern finish while packing in Callaway’s latest face technology and composite crown materials to produce speed, control, and versatility.

The Deep Dive: Mini drivers have always existed in a niche between fairway woods and full-size drivers, but in recent years, they’ve become a compelling option for players who want a club that inspires confidence without sacrificing distance. Callaway’s original Elyte Mini garnered attention earlier this year with a 340cc head that blended control and ball speed in a package that was easier to launch than a traditional 3-wood. Now, the company is building on that success with the Elyte Mini Night Edition.

The most apparent change is cosmetic. The Night Edition is finished in a dark, refined look that gives it a stealthy, modern appearance. But this club isn’t just about aesthetics. Under the hood, the Night Edition benefits from Callaway’s latest materials and face technology, just like the original.

A Thermoforged carbon fiber crown helps save weight on the top of the head while maintaining strength, redistributing mass to optimize launch and spin. The crown is paired with the Ai10x titanium face, which offers 10 times more control points than the previous Ai Smart Face. The goal is faster ball speeds, tighter dispersion, and improved performance on mishits.

Like the standard Elyte Mini, the Night Edition comes with a movable weight and neutral, fade, and draw settings in the back of the head, giving golfers the ability to shape ball flight and dial in control.

At 43.75 inches in length (42.75 for women’s models), it’s about an inch-and-a-half shorter than most modern drivers, which should help with consistency off the tee. Available in both 11.5- and 13.5-degree lofts, it provides options for players who want either a penetrating or higher-launching flight profile, and with an adjustable hosel, players and fitters should be able to tweak the loft to help golfers get the exact distance they desire.

For golfers who love the look of a compact head at address but don’t want to sacrifice speed, the Elyte Mini Night Edition is designed to deliver. It may not replace your driver entirely, but in situations where precision is more important than sheer distance, like on tight par 4s, links-style courses or in windy areas, it could quickly become a go-to club in the bag.
