The Buffalo Bills are consistently among the top teams in the AFC, mainly because of quarterback Josh Allen. Allen is the reigning NFL MVP for good reason. Historically, the Bills have relied heavily on Allen and haven’t always done their best in putting players around him to make his life easier.
When we put together our pre-training camp mock draft update, we decided to take the first two picks and give Allen some help with an elite offensive lineman and a sleeper playmaker at wide receiver. Then we finished things up with a sideline-to-sideline linebacker.
FIrst round – OG Emmanuel Pregnon – Oregon
Pregnon comes to Oregon as one of the top interior offensive linemen in college football. We love him as a day one starting guard who will anchor the middle of the offensive line with his athleticism and power.
Second round – WR Carnell Tate – Ohio State
Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka stole all the headlines last season, but this year we expect Tate to pair up with Smith and be a significant playmaker with his size and speed, taking advantage of coverage mismatches.
Third round – LB Lander Barton – Utah
Barton isn’t the biggest or strongest inside linebacker in the draft but he has a high football IQ, excellent instincts and can work sideline-to-sideline.
