The Chicago Bears suffered a tough defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, 42-38, in what was one of the NFL’s best games of the season. Unfortunately, Chicago didn’t make it out of the game unscathed as rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III suffered an injury on the final play of the game.
Burden suffered an apparent left leg injury on the Bears’ final play, where they were attempting to complete their seventh fourth-quarter comeback of the season. Unfortunately, the comeback attempt fell short, and Chicago lost Burden in the process.

With Rome Odunze sidelined, Burden was the top receiver for Williams, and he didn’t disappoint. After missing last week’s game with an ankle injury, Burden returned and had a career outing with eight catches for 138 yards and one touchdown against the 49ers. He played a key role in the offense’s powerhouse performance.

Burden tried to walk off the field but fell to the ground. After attempting to walk off the field with trainers, Burden was carted to the locker room. According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, Burden was seen grabbing his left hamstring making his way in for an X-ray after the game at Levi’s Stadium.
