Auburn tight end Brandon Frazier accepts Hula Bowl invite

    -

Auburn Tigers tight end Brandon Frazier is heading to Hawai’i to compete in the final college football game of his career. On Friday, it was announced that Frazier had accepted an invitation to play in the Hula Bowl that will take place on Jan. 10.

The Hula Bowl is an annual college football all-star game featuring college football seniors and international players looking to impress scouts at the professional level. The NFL is not the only league that scouts the event with other leagues like the CFL and UFL also scouting the players. The Hula Bowl was first created in 1946, and has the players split into two different teams playing with mostly NFL rules. Despite the name, the game will be played in Deland, Florida and has been in the sunshine state for the last few editions.

For Frazier this is a great opportunity to show his potential as a professional. This past season was his first as the Tigers top tight end after playing behind Rivaldo Fairweather the previous two. Before the 2025 season, Frazier had caught just 12 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. His role for the team had been more of a blocking tight end. That skillset may be his best avenue for a professional career. This season he led the position with 13 catches for 97 yards and did not reach the endzone. His two career scores occurred during the 2023 season. His best game was that season against LSU in a 48-18 loss where he caught three passes for 52 yards and one touchdown.

Frazier is the type of developmental player that would benefit from playing in a league like the UFL where he can get playing time in an actual game. If he did make an NFL roster it would probably be a practice squad player and would only see the field in the preseason. Auburn fans can see Frazier play one more time in 2026 Hula Bowl on Jan. 10. The game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network with a start time of 11 a.m. CT.
