The offseason hasn’t quite moved at a snail’s pace, but for the Yankees it might as well have. Leaks have either been all but nonexistent from the front office this year, or there simply hasn’t been anything for them to leak out to the public. The outfield conundrum remains undecided, with Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker both out on the market still, and time is ticking for Tatsuya Imai’s decision on where he’ll play in 2026 thanks to the quirks of the posting system. Perhaps things will become clearer over the holidays, but with so much still up in the air there’s room for this puzzle to remain unsolved well into the new year.
While the major pieces haven’t fallen into place yet, the Yankees have had some movement: they’ve been solidifying their bullpen arms and ensuring that they’ll have some swingmen ready to go with plenty of their starters on the shelf to start the year. Can they rely on fill-ins to get them through April, or will the rotation truly need another solid starter to get ahead? Would signing Bellinger and calling it a day be enough, or do the Yanks need to do more than more or less running back the 2025 team? If you have questions like this, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
