Alex VanSumeren says Spartans have to “go back to the drawing board”

    -

On Saturday, Michigan State football took their fourth straight loss of the season, falling to the Indiana Hoosiers, 38-13.

Ultimately, it was another poor performance from the MSU team, and the defense in particularly. Outside of the final knee down from the Hoosiers, which counts as a drive, Indiana scored on six of seven drives in the game, with the lone stop being a turnover on downs, where the Hoosiers missed a fourth down touchdown pass by inches.

Following the game, one of the leaders of the defense, defensive tackle Alex VanSumeren, took the media stand to talk about the game. While echoing a statement made by Aidan Chiles that they felt the team played harder, VanSumeren shared that it is back to the drawing board for the Spartans.

“They’re a good team, they got a tough quarterback. It’s not like we are physically outmatched, we have to clean things up, go back to the drawing board.”

Michigan State will get their chance to clean things up Sunday before a rivalry clash with Michigan next Saturday.
