Aaron Rodgers reveals whether he’d ever play for Chicago Bears

    -

There is no love lost between the Chicago Bears and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who spent most of his career terrorizing the Bears en route to a 24-5 record over Chicago during his time with the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers, who is currently a free agent after being released by the New York Jets, is still searching for a new home this season — if he doesn’t retire. Which begged the question — would Rodgers ever consider playing for the Bears? Let’s just say, the answer won’t necessarily come as a surprise.

“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip,” Rodgers said, via Mike Stud. “I don’t know, not sure. Got to check it out. I love Chicago, though. Way more than they love me. It’s been a great relationship. All one way.”

The team Rodgers is alluding to is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have reportedly been courting the former MVP. If Rodgers were to sign with Pittsburgh, the Bears would host Rodgers and the Steelers in Week 12 on Nov. 23.

While Pittsburgh is still in the market for their starting quarterback, the Bears are entering Year 2 of the Caleb Williams era, where the arrow is pointed up. Following a chaotic rookie season where he still managed to shine, Chicago brought in offensive genius Ben Johnson as head coach, built up the offensive line and added more weapons to help take Williams to the next level.

For Williams, he grew up idolizing Rodgers (not the Packers), so you’d have to imagine it would be on the young QB’s bucket list to play against one of his childhood idols. Will that happen? That remains to be seen, but it certainly sounds like there’s mutual interest between Rodgers and the Steelers.
