Simple household ingredients are all we need for the task.

Try a mixture made from lemon juice, salt, and dishwashing liquid.

Are you tired of seeing your beautiful brass utensils lose their shine and gather dust, relegated to the back of your cabinets? Well, don’t worry, because we’ve got you covered. With just a few simple household ingredients and a little bit of effort, you can restore your brass utensils to their former glory and make them look as good as new. Here are a few tried and tested methods to clean brass utensils at home:

Lemon and Salt Scrub: To clean tarnished and dirty brass utensils, try a mixture made from lemon juice, salt, and regular dishwashing liquid. Start by cutting a lemon in half and then dipping it into the mixture prepared. Rub the lemon all over the brass vessel and let it rest for 10 minutes. Now, wash it with warm water.

Vinegar and Baking Soda: A simple method to clean brass utensils involves vinegar and baking soda. Mix equal quantities of vinegar and baking soda in a bowl and then apply it evenly all over the brass utensil. Leave it for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Afterward, wash the utensil, and you will notice that it has regained its shine due to a chemical reaction.

Tomato Ketchup: This is a common household item that can be very useful for cleaning brass utensils. Simply take some ketchup on a soft sponge or cotton cloth and apply it nicely all over the surface of the bronze vessel. Rub the ketchup onto the utensil and allow it to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the vessels thoroughly with water. Once dried, you will notice a sparkling finish.

Rice Flour and Vinegar: Create a paste using rice flour and vinegar. Apply this paste all over the vessel and allow it to sit for 1 to 2 hours. Afterward, use a soft cloth to gently remove the paste, followed by washing the utensils with water and drying them thoroughly. This method will effectively give your brass utensils a polished finish.

Lemon Juice and Baking Soda: Mix lemon juice and baking soda to create a cleaning solution for your brass utensils. Once the solution is ready, dip the brass vessels into it and let them soak for 15 to 30 minutes. After soaking, use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub away any dirt. Finally, wash the utensils with water and ensure they are dried.

Olive Oil and Vinegar: In a spray bottle, mix equal parts of olive oil and vinegar. Once prepared, spray this mixture onto the brass utensil and rub it using a soft cloth. The olive oil will help condition the bronze and restore its shine, while the vinegar will work to remove any accumulated dirt. Lightly scrub the bronze utensil and then rinse it with water.
