    Preparing a delicious breakfast every day can be challenging. A morning meal should not only be tasty but also healthy, as it sets the energy levels for the whole day. The need to make easy, quick and healthy breakfasts daily makes the search for new options never-ending. A light and nutritious snack, Moong Dal Idli is one such convenient breakfast option.

    Made with lentils and semolina, this idli is not only delicious but also helps to cool the stomach. Here is how you can prepare this healthy Moong Dal Idli at home:

    Ingredients

    • ½ bowl Moong dal
    • 1 bowl Semolina
    • Grated carrot
    • Coriander leaves
    • A spoon of grated ginger
    • 8-10 curry leaves
    • 1 bowl Yoghurt
    • ¼ spoon Eno powder

    For Tempering

    • 3 spoons Oil
    • 1 spoon Urad dal
    • 1 spoon Chickpeas
    • 1 spoon Mustard seeds
    • 4-5 dried red chillies
    • A pinch of Asafoetida
    • Salt to taste
    • A few Cashews for garnishing

    Recipe For Moong Dal Idli

    1. Wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 2 hours.
    2. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan and add urad dal and chickpeas. Once fried, add green chillies, coriander leaves, and mustard seeds.
    3. Add the grated carrot and ginger to the mixture and saute. Then, add semolina and roast until it turns golden brown. Set aside to cool.
    4. Blend the roasted semolina with yoghurt into a fine mixture. Transfer to a bowl, add salt and coriander leaves, and mix well.
    5. Grease an idli mould and place one cashew in each section.
    6. Add Eno powder to the batter, mix well, and pour into the moulds.Steam the idlis until soft and fluffy.

    Your soft, spongy Moong Dal Idlis are now ready to be served. Since they already contain vegetables and coriander, they can be enjoyed without chutney as well.
